First Small-Scale Experiment Facilities on Future Networks in China Opened

Theopening ceremony of the first small-scale experiment facilities on futurenetworks were held in China (Nanjing) Future Networks Valley on August 8th,2013. Its open will greatly help relevant institutions promote R&D andinnovation abilities on future networks, which means China expects to changethe passive situation in the field of traditional Internet.
Basedon this facility, a national future network innovation platform, CENI, will beestablished as a prototype of China's basic networks to support experimentsincluding quantum communications, space networks, and networking. Backbonenodes for the CENI project will cover 35 cities in China, such as Nanjing,Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Haerbin, Wuhan, Xi’an, Chengdu,Hefei, and Shenzhen.
